Good flossing is less about force and more about reaching the sides of each tooth with a gentle, controlled movement.
1. Start with clean hands
Wash and dry your hands first. If you use string floss, take a fresh length and wind it loosely around your middle fingers, leaving a short section to guide between teeth.
2. Guide—don’t snap
Ease the floss through the contact point with a small side-to-side motion. Once it is between two teeth, curve the floss into a soft C shape around one tooth.
3. Clean both sides
Move the floss gently up and down against the tooth surface, just beneath the gum edge. Curve it around the neighbouring tooth and repeat. Use a clean section as you move around your mouth.
4. Be consistent
A careful daily clean matters more than rushing. Persistent pain or bleeding deserves advice from a dentist or hygienist.
FLÖSS tip: Keep floss where your routine already happens—beside your toothbrush, in your bag or at your desk.
